thank you to everyone who took the time to respond to my previous update
Today I was told that contrary to what the rheumatologist nurse told me that I was to be referred to an endocrinologist- I now have an appointment for a synacthen test on June21 for which I am not to take that morning’s pred.
My whinge on this occasion is that the doctor I saw last time and who had arranged this test seems to be on a crusade to get as many patients as possible off steroids . She got a bit bolshy when I mentioned my quality of life and I just have a feeling that I’m being set up to fail - or more accurately - to pass her test.
I have much more faith in the advice and experience of our Ambassadors on this site than in this particular medic. Nevertheless I am caught up in her crusade.

When you get to see an endocrinologist make sure you have clear notes outlining your side of things. They only look at how to reduce pred and will possibly offer you hydrocortisone. Make sure they understand that managing the PMR is a more important factor at present and HC often doesn't do that effectively.
Have you ever discussed this in detail with a GP - have you one who is reasonable and willing to discuss this?
