Sensitive Skin

Hi all, as you can see from my bio, PMR since feb 2023. Taking pred 12.5mg at the moment. Recently been experiencing skin sensitivity at the front of my hips, when I dry with a towel it stings. Does anyone know if this is a pred side effect and has anyone else experienced this ?

At various times since I have had PMR I have exerienced areas of skin that feel burnt or tender like skin feels after being in contact with something hot. Sometimes it is touch that elicits the sensation - even the shower will do it. I have heard other people mention something similar. No idea what it is though.

I have had all sorts of skin sensitivities since my PMR diagnosis in 2016, particularly of the stinging, itching type. I use unscented moisturising creams daily to keep it at bay.

While on pred. my skin became very fragile and I had to garden in long sleeves as even a brush against a stiff leaf would cause damage. This is a long time ago and I've not had pred. for ten years. The skin has completely recovered but it took a long time... 2 or 3 years at least.
