Tapering from 1mg?

After a few bumps, I am finally down to 1mg a day but wondering how best to go from here. Continue to go down to 0.5 after 6 weeks, then stop after the last 6 weeks? I'm a bit scared! Your comments would help, please?

Carry on the same as you have been doing if it has worked well. We would always say use a slowed taper - DSNS or DL's taper - even to go to zero using zero as new dose but definitely go via 1/2mg. You are right to be a bit cautious - even 1/2mg can be enough to keep very low level activity PMR under wraps, but the only way you find out it to approach it slowly and carefully and then see how long you can stay at zero without symptoms. You have all the time in the world, no hurry.

I can only speak for myself of course. Since 2mg I have been reducing by 0.25mg using DL’s slow taper. I’m now down to 1mg and continuing the 0.25mg drop using the same tapering plan.

Hello Allum, I reduced by .25mg. I was scared too, hence why I cut my 1mg pred into quarters. Not an exact science but it worked for me. Took me ages, hasten slowly.
