It's just over a year since I reached zero pred and fingers crossed all is well.I recently took up Pro's recommended activity, Aquafit, to build up my still useless muscles. 5 weeks in I'm up to 3 sessions a week and muscles and ligaments etc slowly and sometimes reluctantly, are emerging from their dormant state!
I'm not a keen swimmer but I'm enjoying the Aquafit sessions. Initially I was exhausted after the endorphins had subsided during the first couple of weeks. Now a tiredness arrives later in the day but not anything more than it used to be after a long long walk with the beagles!
Then I am nearly 6 years older than I was when PMR struck so stamina probably not quite what it was🤷🏼♀️.

Brilliant - you will find your level of fitness will improve for some months, I have my last session of aquafit next week - for some reason they don't continue over the summer.
What a shame. I am so surprised that I actually really enjoy it! Even OH who doesn't notice much, says I look more toned...I know it takes a while and I've got a while yet before I get there. When I say he doesn't notice much.... I once bought a coat which I wore every Sunday to church for 18 months. He then asked if I'd bought a new coat, as he hadn't seen it before!!!! That's vicars for you 🤷🏼♀️
Probably rank alongside scientists! Especially physicists ...
I used to do aquafit every day, Mon to Friday. Kept me upright and functioning with untreated PMR. Stopped when we moved here - I couldn't find a class and they aren't cheap.
🥰🤣 I'd read your posts extolling the virtue of aquafit, hence I dived in, no I didn't I walked down the steps into the pool! Any chance you can persuade them to lengthen your aquafit season? I am thinking of trying legs bums and tums or do you reckon I should stick to aquafit?
I think you might struggle with LBT yet - usually a lot of repetitive exercises for the relevant muscles and PMR-affected musles struggle with them. However - saying that, there might be a good Pilates class - that was something else I found amazingly helpful but I did have an amazing teacher who had everything adjusted to cover all needs.
The courses are run by the regional Rheuma charity and would need a fair number of participants to break even. And here everyone goes up the mountain in summer!
I did in the UK, nary a one here with a pool! A very different culture and gyms tend to be weights and treadmills. The pool is quite fancy though with several pools including my favourite - outside salt water pool with air massage benches! Gets a bit busy in season though.
Cheers for that info, Pro. I'll give the bums and tums a miss. I'll keep on with the Aquafit 👍. We have 3 different instructors and what's interesting and useful is that between them they seem to cover all the different muscle groups. If you're ever in the East Riding you must come and join me in a class or two!!!
