antisynthetase syndrome

Had this autoimmune condition since 2005 after influenza disease. On Methotrexate & hydroxychloroquine with excellent results. My issue is GI symptoms on occasion. Flatulence regularly which is very embarrassing. Diarrhea once every 3-6 months. Seems more frequent lately due to stress.

Seeking advice. Thanks

Did you mean to post here? This is a forum specialising in PMR and GCA and as far as I can tell we really don't have much in common with your disorder other than the use of pred to manage the symptoms but you are using medications that are rarely used for us. MTX can cause GI problems but I don't know much about dealing with that other than injected MTX often helps.

Are you on anything else? I wondered if perhaps a PPI - like omeprazole or the like. They can cause GI problems and it can appear even after a period of not having problems.
