Has anyone had problems with their knees?

I’ve never experienced anything like this before. I got into my car this morning and my knee kind of clicked and twisted. It happened again when getting into the car and has, during the day happened about 10 times. It feels as though it could dislocate.

Could it be that the pred has affected my ligaments already? I have only been taking 15mg (now taking 13) for a couple of months

sounds like Arthritis to me , my knees are terrible they twist and crack like crazy , a study should raw ginger each day is very good for knee OA specifically , but good for OA in general also 👍

some people have already mentioned your knees are probably not PMR related couldn’t agree more , I also have a condition that affects my bones , I was treated for PMR for about 5 years then the symptoms swayed more towards skeletal issues , I have methotrexate injections once a week , still can’t get off pred . Fingers crossed yours is just OA , but has been said get some tests done to eliminate anything else , safe than sorry as they say 👍 . Pred is amazing at disguising pain and symptoms of other things .

Yes, but not related to PMR at all. Do you think you should see a doctor? It may be unrelated, though others who know about PMR will probably be along soon!

I would get your knees checked. The knee is a most complicated structure so there's a lot of things it could be.

I have knee problems due to arthritis. I have had one knee operated in to remove debris and smooth the surface. My knee problems started gradually but my surgeon did not think pmr or prednisolone was the cause.

If this is a new thing for you I would definitely want to get it checked out. Hope you get better soon.

You need to get this checked out - not sure it has anything to do with PMR/Pred - just co-incidence...

Hello, sorry I don't know the answer but I can say that my knees were bad and I couldn't get out of the bath until I went back on the Pred. This is what I worry about most but worry won't help so I shall reduce and then if pain returns I will ask for more meds I guess. I have taken up a hobby to refocus my mind.

Thank you to everyone for responding, I'm grateful for your input. I have my regular telephone appointment with my GP on Wednesday but will see if I can get a f2f. Its hard to diagnose something like that over the phone isn't it? I had a knee brace delivered today which helps a little.
