Could well be adrenals struggling -fatigue is a very common affect.

And I would be inclined to reduce by 0.5mg rather than 1mg at such low doses -helps adrenals and PMR.

And use one of the slowed tapers too - you can't go slow enough at this stage!

At this level 1mg would have been far too large a drop. Think of it as 25% rather than a small number near to zero as it is tempting to do. I was doing 0.5mg over 8 weeks or more by 3mg. As you describe your experience sounds just like adrenal glands not producing enough cortisol to cover the walk that demanded more than the 3mg Pred had to offer or whatever was left in your system. It really knocks the stuffing out of you. I never went out without my Pred either just in case I felt I couldn’t make it back.

precisely… I had a steroid injection in my knee about a month ago and the Dr said you’re taking oral steroids aren’t you,.. I told him 1.5mg reducing by 0.25 every 4 weeks. He questioned the low taper and I told him about the 10% guidance… that cut the conversation. I also take a box of Pred with me just in case. In my utterly naive days in the first year of PMR I was hospitalised, something that could have prevented with extra Pred and a glass of water. (I’m currently on 1.25mg.)

I don't leave the bouse without a dose in my dosette box. And I take the original packs of everything if I will be away from home overnight.
