This link gives info on flare versus withdrawal - but at 3 week in would normally say flare -

However at your level more likely to be adrenals struggling - so have a look at this - from The FAQs -

Hi 😊

Well, it could be, but as DorsetLady says, at your level I’d say it’s more likely to be adrenals stuttering into action. Lots of info in DorsetLady’s link. Good luck, this can I think be a hard phase, I was hit with something similar at 7.5mg. Hugs x

Anxiety at your level more likely to be adrenals.. had it been in higher doses might have put it down to Pred.

Sounds very like the adrenals putting up a bit of a fight at being woken up from their sleep.

Hi Everyone

Just thought I would tell you my recent experience. I too, had those symptoms. Strange legs suddenly feeling very panicky and anxious and very down. I thought it was probably adrenals. I eventually got to see my doctor. I previously told of the difficulty doing that. Anyway she decided I needed an anti depressant and to change my blood pressure tablet from Amlodipine to Lercanidipine. The antidepressant was Sertraline. The upshot was that 2 days later I was rushed into hospital, having had a seizure. Following every test available including 2 head scans ( because they thought it was a stroke), they said I was suffering from low sodium. The treatment was to restrict my fluid intake to 2 litres a day. I was discharged after a few days when they considered my sodium had increased sufficiently. They also stopped the Sertraline and the Lansoprazole which I have been on along with Pred. Replaced Lansoprazole with a low dose of Famotodine and kept Lercanidipine for blood pressure.

Now having read up about low sodium it seems that antidepressants are well known for lowering sodium. I have had another blood test since being home to check my sodium level but haven’t had result through yet.

This is my theory which I intend discussing with my gp when I get latest test result. I believe that long term use of Lanzoprozole has been lowering my sodium but then taking Sertraline tipped it over the edge.

What I have to say mostly is that it was the low sodium that was causing the anxiousness because since my sodium level has increased I no longer have that feeling and I am not taking any anti depressant.

Sorry to say I still have fatigue and leg problems and will discuss that further with gp.

Just felt I should put this out there.

OMG! Thanks for the info. I have been having salt cravings and I’m sure I read that stuttering adrenals can cause that.
