hi- have seen quite a lot lately about the benefits of Tart Cherry Juice for inflammation

Has anyone tried this and to what effect? Also would you mind sharing what brand and if it was actual juice or some kind of tablet form supplement?

Thanks

I’ve been drinking a glass of tart cherry juice a day because I read it helps arthritis. Whether it’s helping or not I can’t say. I have t noticed a difference

This is quite a good article

webmd.com/diet/tart-cherry-....

Do bear in mind there is a LOT of sugar in it so if you are aiming to cut carbs with the pred it wouldn't be in the least helpful there! It also warns you to check for interactions with medications.

I saw no difference in pain or inflammation trying a test of Cherry Juice to help my insomnia . I tested it for two months. Then I stopped it for a month to test the difference. It didn't make a significant difference to my sleep pattern either.I tried a few brands for a couple of weeks a time.

I do still drink it , especially in the winter , as part of a juice or smoothie to increase my antioxidants and help my immunity . But I don't bother doing it at night as before because it made no difference to my sleep.

But we all have different issues so what may not have worked as well for me may still help someone else.

Interestingly it does help reduce the time I can have Chilblains and toe swelling during Raynaud's, but I think that is because it does seem to reduce Uric Acid levels rather than decreasing inflammation. It is recommended for gout.

It does also seem to help my eyes and help my thinking skills .

I think the benefits from cherry juice for inflammation is like many other natural options. Studies are mainly done on generally healthy people with no chronic health issues , so the positive results are seldom the same for people whom have inflammation from a medical condition as they are for people whom have inflammation or soreness because of short term reasons like exercise or post workout.

I get Biona Organic Tart Cherry Juice , 1 litre bottles , delivered by Amazon monthly using their subscribe and save deal. It was cheaper anyway than the health shop and supermarket and the extra money off made it better. Plus , you can subscribe and get the deal but change the subscription or cancel it at any time. I do this with most of my vitamin purchases now too. If you do use a lot of supplements, creams and wholefood I do think it's worth being part of Prime and taking advantage of the savings and convenience it easily pays for itself.

I have been taking tart cherry juice for several years. I am not sure how much it helps but I love it! I also get dried tart cherries too as a snack. I am a cherry fiend! I was told you should get Montmorency cherries for the best results. So any make that uses Montmorency cherries.
