Feeling miserable

I was on 80mg in 2020 and am down to 13 mg ( slow taper method). I have been managing until yesterday when I was in extreme pain in my neck, shoulders , arms and hips. I figured I would wait a little to see if I had to increase the Prednisone. Last night, I could not sleep due to pain, feeling very anxious and unsure what was happening. It was a very strange experience.

Has anyone else experienced this? Advice, please.

Pains -depending on how long you’ve been at 13mg might be worth trying a couple of extra Pred, if it’s only a couple days could be steroid withdrawal, so stick with it -but if longer then maybe start of a flare, so needs addressing.

Just for info, have you tried ordinary painkillers?

Anxiety-although it’s slightly higher than we usually quote, it could be adrenals… but difficult to say.

Not making light of it, but could it be you worrying about return of pains ?

Thanks for your insight. As it turns out, I was actually harboring a UTI. Now that I am on the antibiotics I am feeling somewhat better and I slept very well last night!
