well, have posted my history these last couple mos, so was on 40 mgs pred, strted Dec 30, for suspected GCA, on for one week, had blood work done on Jan 5, markers coming down, then told to go down to 30 for 2 weeks, then 20 for 2 weeks, and now tody suppose to drop to 15 mgs, have bloodwork on Feb 6th, this is a fast reduction, and have been having some weird symptons, insomnia, jelly legs, woozy, zombie like many days( may because of sleep deprivation), wondering if because of these big drops? was wondering if just dropping to 17.5 instead down to 15 would help with symptons, but then, thinking is it the higher doses causing my symptons really? I never had these symptons when first started this long journey, starting at 40 6 1/2 years ago? and my rheumy seems to be on top of things, see him on Feb 13th, , still booked me for CT, for neck arteries re the MRI results showing subacute stroke, so in your opinions, what are your thoughts, follow rheumy,s plan, the 5 mg drop, or slow it down to drop of 2 1/2 , that is today take 17 1/2 instead of right down to 15 mgs, appreciate any input

Always think a smaller drop - 2.5mg in your case - is better for you, the patient....
Personally I wouldn't drop by more than 2.5mg. If it goes easily, then you can always drop to 15mg in less than a month.🙂
