It must be a nasty infection, poor you. The dentist may not do the procedure until the infection clears fully. Do get his direction about dosage during the procedure, mine gave me anaesthetic free from adrenaline, for reasons I can’t recall. We are ill and I do think these things batter us more than usual. I hope it all goes well. You will look lovely.
Hello, there isn’t much to go on here. What dose of steroids are you on and why were you put on Amoxicillin? I’m not sure if you’ve had the crown put on already or having it done tomorrow after the first setting up appointment.
If it is an infection then it COULD be related to the pred which does make you a bit more susceptible to infections sometimes. However - as Snazzy says, more detail would help.
It could be -but I had a similar experience having a tooth out. This was before Pred. Amoxicillin didn't touch me after 5 days and I was put on a much stronger antibiotic, because things got a lot worse, which worked. So just a thought.
I had a dental abcess a year ago and Amoxicillin didn't touch it. I needed 2 other antibiotics to get on top of it. Not a lot worse than severe tooth pain - hope it resolves soon.
