someone posted about a rheumatologist called Charlotte Wing in Hertfordshire.who really understood pmr problems! My gp referred me to her at hospital at St Albans in November, who said if I hadn’t heard anything by Jan 8th to contact them. When I spoke to them eventually! They said they were dealing with referrals from July!!!
also can’t ask for specific specialist.
rheumy I had originally took me off his list as said I was doing ok! Now on 6.5 after starting at 15 in July 2021. Would so value contact with someone recommended and who knew the ins and outs of this complex condition! As I have various symptoms!!! Haven’t we all at 84!!!
so value this forum! Thanks all!Bedwell

Sounds as if your GP in cloud cuckoo land. I do understand WHY they claim you can't be referred to someone specific, they USED to manage it, but it does make so much more sense to see someone who is good at YOUR problem.
I’m in the Watford area and found my PMR poorly managed by one of the consultants at Watford General( in confidence my g.p. agreed that rheumatology was poorly led)I have struggled through with help from my g.p.
If you possibly can have a private consultation with a rheumatologist who understands P.M.R.
charlotte Wing doesn’t have a private practice! 8 month wait to see a rheumatologist!!!! Investigating other private practitioner in the area. Hertfordshire. .. really to see if throbbing knees and feet at night are connected with predisoline. Also have burning ears at night!!!
