Flair of PMR 8weeks after Covid

hello fellow PMR sufferers. I’m having a bad flair and going on holiday tomorrow. It’s boxing day so no GP available.

I’m trying to remember how long in terms of days, you add 5 mg of prednisolone to your current dose?

You can add 5mg to the dose where the flare happened for up to 10-14 days and be able to return straight to the old dose - I assume that would take you through your holiday?

HOWEVER: is this an overshooting the dose/stress and you didn't do Sick Day Rules OR has the Covid triggered a proper flare of the underlying autoimmune condition that causes PMR symptoms? Not wanting to sound a real misery - but you do need to consider that because then you might need more for longer. Have you plenty of pred if that were the case? Take it with you.

sorry about that I am sure you are a lady. Hope you are well thanks for all the help you gave me. I dare not say that I have been off prednisone now for 3 months. But I am not confident that it won’t come back. I am keeping to healthy diet. Trying to put some muscle back on my very thin legs having a blood test in about a week to see how things are. Also to see if my adrenal glands will work if I get I’ll. hope you are doing ok take care

The consultant told me to return to the last dose I had without pain so I do but then very slowly return to the lower dose.
