Result of Rheumy Consultation

I thought you might like to know the outcome of my consultation with a Rheumy yesterday. Following the sound advice you offered in answer to my query, I was well prepared for what might be a battle to resist any further Prednisolone sparer. I met with a consultant who I have seen a few times before and we were able to have a very adult conversation. I listened to her and she listened to me.

She gave me the possible options and said the decision was entirely mine but "unless I was desperate to come off Prednisolone", she would advise a very slow taper and probably be prepared to stay on a low dose indefinitely. This was music to my ears. We agreed that I would aim for a dose of 5 mgs (I am on 7 at the moment) and she would see me in 3 months' time to review the situation when she would probably arrange an adrenal test. She also said not to try reducing until the dust has settled after Christmas.

Altogether brilliant!!

Thank you so much for your help once again. I can now relax and enjoy the Christmas festivities.
