Fatty Liver and Methotrexate

my rheumatologist wants to put me on MTX for my RA …starting at 10mg injections once a week

I’m just on 1mg of prednisone, occasional PMR pains, not like it was.

I have a fatty liver and not too pleased to start this treatment.

Has anyone had the same dilemma?

You may be better going onto the RA forum as the Methotrexate is not for your PMR reduction.

It is the international first line approach for RA - have they found deterioration of your joints?

Hi I was on 40 mg of prednisone a year ago I am now taking 1 mg and on the next day I take 1/2 mg so far everything is ok .I have a bit of stiffness some days but over all it’s ok. I find I am tried during the day but just take a nap. I had a fatty liver but I changed how I eat no sugar,fried food ,

bread just veg and fruit and meat is all I eat I have lost 40 lbs. My doctor said I could stay on a low amount of prednisone for life but why if I don’t need it. So I am coming off the prednisone and see how I do. I am not a big help I have not taken anything else for pmr.
