Doing very well up to 2 days ago, on 7.5 mgs.
I am going to a wedding tomorrow - but appear to have heatstroke from a very hot, long walk in Greece. Nausea, headache, dizziness - all too familiar in a way. It hasnt gone off after 2 days. Would you increase the pred temporarily (fearing this would be a relapse)?

If you have heatstroke - have you been medically assessed?
It may have been enough to trigger a flare - in which case more pred would make sense - does it FEEL like a flare did?
Thanks. Not assessed. It does feel similar. I will do both approaches - lots of water, cooling, replace salts, and lift the pred to 10 mgs for two days. Would two days be long enough, I wonder.

good idea - I see from your posted info on flares that it is important to make a definitive increase. I will do a few days at +5 mgs for 7-10 days. I think it is, in fact, a flare, and prob my first, (count your blessings). Thanks, as ever.
... and here is the (unwelcome) answer ... it is Covid! Prefaced but not caused obviously, by HeatStroke. Finally showed positive on Wed am. Thanks so much for your support. I can't rule out a flare also, so thanks for guiding me on that. Oddly, some sites advocate no steroids to treat Covid. We are in a different world, of course, and cutting off suddenly would be super dangerous. I was on 7.5mgs, up to 12.5 for 5 days, then tomorrow back down to say 8.5 to see if, after Covid, that level still suppresses most symptoms. Thanks again. T

Did you share it with anyone? Not that it was your fault ...
not that I know of - no reports yet. But I may have been infected earlier than others (last Thursday), with positive test coming up on Wednesday only - and previous 3 LFTs all negatives. I can't rule it out though.
Maybe it was heatstroke, a flare, and then I caught Covid at the wedding. Complicated!
That's right - it does seem to start symptoms quite quickly but not test +ve as fast
In the UK there are 135k+ cases at present, plus many unknown. Very much like ‘normal’ flu. Not easy, but not a dangerous ‘feel’, to it. I have had 4 jabs tho.

we had heatstroke (Covid). Last month I’m Rhodes . Caught from jet2 flight attendant who was coughing left right and center, all over everyone, the whole flight. It was horrible being ill In that heat. My son was the worst. We barely ate and took enough painkillers to choke a rhino.
Exhausted and totally scunnered.

Is Exhaustion a reason to stop a slow reduction of Prednisolone?
