Asma symptoms
Do you mean asthma problems ? I have asthma but no issues since getting PMR/GCA back in 2019. However, I am quite croaky of late but also suffer sinus problems and think it's post nasal drip that's causing my croaky voice.
Have you tried searching on asthma in PMR forum? Just done it & there are previous posts re asthma, with info to help you. I suffer, but it has no connection to PMR, had it for years. If you think you have asthma, please see your doctor. Many surgeries have a lung specialist nurse, too, who can advise. Steroids, as you probably know, are often used (but short term doses, usually just a week), to help bad asthma attacks, but it’s not a reason to increase long term steroid doses, I don’t believe, & you need to be diagnosed in the first instance!!
If you had large vessel vasculitis affecting the arteries in the trunk it could affect the lungs..
But if you are having breathing problems you need to speak to your GP. Pred is known to cause breathing problems too.
I get chest/breathing problems but have been tested, it's not asthma, but something else responsive to Pred that helps. I tend to get it if I have a flare and increasing steroids helps brig it under control
