When is the best time to take pred, I’m on 7.5 mg

I’m not taking my pred until maybe 9.30 am, if I start taking it at say, 5am, do I have to eat something

Lots of us get away with a piece of banana, some yoghurt or other small snack.

Are you on a PPI or other stomach protection medication?

I take mine at 2am with a piece of hard cheese. It is easy to carry upstairs!

Evening, like Piglette and a few others I take mine early morning with some Greek Yogurt and a banana.

Adrenal activity (if any) is between 2am and 7am, so any time after 7am. That’s why shift workers taking their Pred at night-time have trouble with adrenal response when tapering to get off the medication.

Adrenal activity is triggered at midnight - so taking pred any time after midnight is OK since it takes time to get into the system anyway

Professor Google ‘says‘ cortisol minimum at 3am and peaks around 8am. If one is a shift worker, say, working one week days, one week nights, repeating the sequence, I can understand why my GP said what she did regarding prednisolone tapering issues for shift workers.
