Being diagnosed with PMR and GCA. I am reducing steroids. Will I have to be on steroids forever with GCA? I am due to see rheumatologist in June but was interested to know. Many thanks for any answers.

No - the majority of people are off pred by 4 or 5 years if they "just" have GCA. PMR can take longer. There are a few people on the forum who are off pred who have remained to provide support - but most have gone away to live life without GCA.

If you go to the FAQs post you will find links to many posts about GCA and PMR that will give you a good background and outline of what may happen

So far I’ve been off Pred as a treatment for GCA since August 2020 after about 3 years and 5 months.
