Linear Blaschkitis

I had PMR and have been off pred for over a year, following recovery not long after a hip replacement. On the same leg I’ve had a linear rash ( non itchy)from the ankle to the groin and my GP sent a photo of it to a dermatologist who diagnosed linear Blaschkitis - no known cause, but possibly post viral or stress related inflammation. I wondered if anyone had any experience or advice. Steroid cream hasn’t had any affect on removing it.

Gosh, I’d never heard of it so had to look it up. Having said that I have seen it before, just didn’t know the name, in post Covid pics, viral infection and drug reaction. My brief read this morning says it can take a long time to go, like months. It might be a reaction to some material introduced during the hip replacement as there are various products in contact with your body around the operation. You may never know. Does the replacement feel ok and do you feel ok generally? Have you been ill in other ways?

Thanks for your reply. The anterior replacement was and is very successful though I did develop gastritis shortly after it. I do wonder if the Covid vaccination caused it as it appeared not long after I had it but as you say it could have been triggered by alien material from the transplant especially as I’m susceptible to auto immune conditions (hypothyroid, coeliac, PMR ). It doesn’t seem to impact me in any way apart from being unsightly in my swimsuit and who knows what’s going on underneath the skin!

Could have been the vaccine because on the day your body spotted the various things in it and went haywire. Can happen with other medications too. It’ll probably go down to one of life’s frustrating mysteries.

Good pictures if nothing else! Though I found the read not too bad - I appreciate it isn't everyone's cup of tea!

Many thanks - thus is very interesting though I will need to get a medical dictionary. Thank you as ever for taking the time to reply.
