18 months ago it was thought I had angina, but after speaking via telephone with heart specialist it was decided that this was not so, I was told to stop all medications. However, after some chest tightness today I checked my pulse only to find that I was missing some heartbeats, should I be concerned, thank you for any advice or suggestions.

Think you probably need a heart related forum such as this -healthunlocked.com/bhf
this forum is for people with autoimmune diseases….PMR and GCA in particular.
But it does need checking so please contact your GP asap or ring NHS 111
Thank you Dorset Lady, yes I realize now that I was posting on the wrong site, the postings here has been from my BH as she has suffered from PMR for over 8 years, but getting on top of it now thank goodness, so that she is Mrs MACuk. Thanks again, will find the correct health forum.
Sounds like Ectopic beats which seem like "missing" but are actually out of place (hence ectopic). They occur a split second too early and are not "felt". Disconcerting but usually not a great concern.
Hi AyJayBass, sorry not to have replied to your posting to me earlier, it seems as though your reply went to the forum used by my wife, who has PMR, So firstly, thank you for your words, they, coupled with other detail I now have to hand, has put my mind at rest, although naturally I will, as one does nowadays, keep an eye on things. We live in Wales, and are very aware of the fact that the NHS is under great pressure at present, the waiting time at our local A & E for adults is between 12 and 14 hours. And certainly, with my wife who as I say has PMR, she learnt all she now knows of that condition from the good souls she made contact with here. So, sorry about the long posting, but ,must say again - Thank you.
I had ectopic heart beats at some point...out of the blue. Was checked out -ecg, Holter monitor and ekg and in the end it went away (might disappear by the time your appointment with the cardiologist comes round). Good luck. It is disconcerting.
