What was the problem with the drug?

Morning SJ. The tablets are liable to crumble and break. Which is interesting as I had already complained to my OH that her present tablets were crumbling and I had wasted a number from the present package. Link below

Very kind of you to let me know. I’ve been on Levothyroxine for about 35 years. X

I'm going to ring Docs today to see what they say, guess they are OK to use and I've just binned the crumbly ones. I'll update when I get an answer. I'm surprised that we have not been made aware.

Me too! Anything that explains why I feel so awful tbh.

Sort for late answer, just back from another wet walk with the beasties. It doesn't say that the tablets are not effective if they are whole. I've not noticed OH suffering from a lack of. The trick seems to be in getting them out whole. Think I've wasted at least half a dozen so far which if for other reason I need to let the surgery know so that they don't think I'm trying to reorder them too soon. It always surprises me that the 50mg tablets are half the size of the 25mg ones common sense would sem to suggest that should be the other way round.

How bizarre ...

Actually - my vit D tablets are the same, 1000 IU bigger and more expensive relative to the 4000 IU ones!

I have got a batch of these, but not had any problems with them so far. As long as they are not harmful or are ineffective, it sounds like I can carry on taking them?

I have just picked mine up this week and they are this batch. I haven’t noticed the first three crumbling but will contact my pharmacist. Would you tell me where you got the information? Thank you.

I take 100MCG but I checked my bottle just the same and do not find a batch number. I found this very strange. Thank you for the information!

Took mine back to the pharmacy. Didn’t seem to know anything about a recall. Just waiting for further update.

Thank you for this. I first noticed couple of months ago that tablets were crumbling and going to powder when handled. In a strip of 14 only 3 could be used. I normally take my 1 tab out at night and put on my bedside table to take in the morning that way I know I have taken it. The last straw was when 1 had disintegrated overnight and was just powder !!!!I then started researching and saw product recall I am alarmed that the pharmacy/surgery have not contacted us. No one cares if you have a product recall in supermarkets there are big posters and notices a tablet that is keeping us alive and no one bothers
