Hi guys just an update, finally had my appointment with the Specialist through NHS . Back on 15 mg Pred a day! For one month then 12.5 for one month etc etc ….must say I couldn’t wait, as the pain has been unbearable and I know like you all do Pred seems to be the answer . Dr Ashok also did ex ray of my shoulder and chest this time and took lots of blood to rule out other things? 🤷♀️ So relieved that I know in a short while I will be doing cartwheels again!! Onwards and upwards !!! X

As recommended, no cartwheels - well in your head perhaps!
But just take this easy, tapering as well, although15 to 12.5mg is the “recognised drop”, as we know doesn't work for everyone.
Hope you have an easier time after the fiasco that went before, but listen to your body at all times….and good luck.
At last! You've been 'treated' poorly from the beginning especially by the GP who appears to have little understanding of PMR.Prednisolone IS the only way to manage the disease.
You said you have a busy life but you must take into consideration the fact that overdoing things will hamper your progress. Feeling so much better is not an indication to resume your previous levels of activity: you may well find yourself back to square one. Please think seriously about ways to moderate your daily routine whether it's at work or at home.
I wish you well.
