Numbness on right side face

Hi as anyone suffered numbness in right cheek and gum and teeth. Iv been on for a year now got down to 1mg with pmr but my cheek and lip gum and teeth gone numbe. It feels like when you have injection for a tooth out and it numbs it but this won't go away anyone had this after com6down

that sounds like a very quick drop to 1. 1 year?? but I cannot imagine the numbness is due to the drop in meds. How long has it been numb? A little more information please... if this is sudden I would absolutely call the doc. is it just numb or also drooping?

It came all of a sudden 6 days ago. I started on 15mg took a year to get to 1mg .worst thing I'm now in spain been to docs and he raised it to 30mg for 5 days then 20 5 days 10 for 5 days he seems to think this was the problem .ha then he mentioned start of shingles maybe

I thought of shingles right away ... my daughter had face shingles.. but then you dont need those dose of Prednisone you need anti viral.. cyclovor.. (sp) perhaps another doctor is in order.....

I hope you have sought medical attention by now. Some but not all causes of facial numbness are serious. For instance, stroke, Bells Palsy and MS. In case of a stroke - which may be as small warning stroke, speedy medical attention is imperative. I don’t know what the emergency medical facilities are in Spain but you need to take advantage of them as a matter of urgency. Good luck, let us know how you get on.
