Worried to take nortripyline

Hi - it was my first time take nortriptyline last night and I was extremely nervous like you because I had previously been taking Amitriptyline which caused terrible side effects. I slept well, had no other side effects and feel fine. It’s only day 1 but fingers crossed it gets better. How are you getting on?
Hi there that is really good the side effects are not effecting you. I am trying a nerve pain gel at the moment it’s called 5 kind hemp active gel I brought on Amazon it really helps with the pain going to see how the gel goes and maybe start taking tablets if I really need them I just hope this pain will eventually go away. Do you suffer with nerve pain.
That gel sounds good and I’m glad it’s working for you. I’m awaiting spinal surgery for a stress fracture and spondylithesis and I have a lot of nerve pain especially at night. The gp recommended something to help me sleep and reduce the pain. I’ve done the NSAI route and ended up with terrible IBS and ulcers. I tried CBD oil which was ok. I don’t want to depend on codeine as that is addictive. My mental health has declined due to my back pain and so hoping nortriptyline gives me an all round boost that I need. What about you?
I have had surgery on my cervix to remove abnormal cells which has left me with nerve pain the gel really helps at night but not so much during the day when I walk around it can be very painful I think I am going try the Nortripyline tonight to really fed up with the pain and you are right it does make you feel down. How have you been feeling today with the medication the doctor gave me 10mg how much is your dosage.
Oh how rubbish for you.. sorry to hear that. So I’m feeling good so far but everyone is different so you might react differently but definitely try it if that’s what your GP has suggested. Yes mine prescribed me 10mg and I would take it to start 2hrs before you plan to go to bed as it can take that long to feel sleepy. Some people take it an hour before bed.
Yes, do let me know how you get on. I really hope it helps your pain and makes a difference. I think I read it can take 4 weeks to notice a real difference so as long as you can tolerate it, I would perceiver. I’ve just taken my 2nd one and I’m starting to fall asleep an hour later! My back is definitely less painful or it’s just bothering me less or it’s made me not concentrating on it so much.
Oh wow so happy for you and yes I think once our bodies gets used to the meds it will be better. I feel ok.. I had some very vivid dreams last night, broken sleep and my mind feels a bit all over the place, a bit jittery. Only Day two so I must be patient and see what happens. I’m not throwing it out just yet.
I didn’t sleep much last night the medicine is helping been feeling tired today. I hope we get used to the medicine got work tomorrow I hope I feel bit better tomorrow it is nice not being in pain all the time. Has your pain completely gone how did you feel today.
Yikes yeah I have work in the morning too. I hope I sleep better. It must feel so nice for you to feel that the pain to have gone! That’s happened quickly! It’s good because one less thing for our brains to worry and stress about. My pain has significantly reduced, not gone but I think about it less. Going to sleep is worse for me.
Hi there. That’s so good it’s worked for you! I decided to stop taking them because it gave me horrible side effects which I’m gutted about because it actually helped with the pain.
Hi there how have you been did you get any other medication for your pain. I finished my course of nortripyline on Friday really has helped I still get pain a little sometimes I am hoping I don’t have to take more as don’t like taking to many tablets going to see how I go.
Hi there. How come you have stopped your medication? I’m just coping with paracetamol at the moment because I can’t take anything else.
Fingers crossed that you now start healing. I’ve had my spinal surgery cancelled for the 2nd time now which is extremely frustrating.
Thank you Very much
