Hi there. It seems that you've come to the wrong forum. This is for Polymyalgia Rheumatica/giant cell arteritis. 🙁

There is no reason to stop the amitriptyline unless your doctor has told you to.

If your doctor has prescribed it, why not try it? If you don’t trust your doctor, perhaps find a new one? I take amitryptylline, but it’s not for my polymyalgia, but other medical issues. It has side effects,I suggest reading the leaflet...but it’s not for me to say if you can take it, or not...all I can say is that Amitryptyline helps my muscles relax, but I reiterate I was not prescribed it for polymyalgia! Take care!
