Not directly usually. But it can be a sign of carpal tunnel syndrome which is more common in patients with PMR but can also exist on its own. Which fingers are most affected?
That could be a sign of ulnar nerve entrapment - I get it if I lean on my elbow "wrong" but it can also be trapped at the shoulder. Worth speaking to the GP.
I am certainly more prone to them. I only have to lean on my hands for a few moments and I get pins and needles if it is bothersome, I would tell your doctor because other conditions have it as a symptom.
I just looked at your profile. Poor you, you think you are possibly relapsing with PMR and are hoping to avoid a repeat of steroids. I can really empathise with that feeling. Are you suffering a great deal? You are currently waiting for a Rheumatology appointment. My GP treated me. If it is PMR, as you know, it will only get worse if it is untreated.
New moon today! New start!! Have tried to keep off steroids after pmr flare triggered by second Pfizer vaccine! But today took 15 mg predisolone and am feeling positive! Patience is not my middle name!!! But reading all the posts here, I see it must become so! Happy full moon to you all!
I still have finger tingling that is due to neuropathy left over from chemo a year and a half ago. Prednisone can also affect it. Sorry you have this. See what your Doc says. Best of luck. I just accept that I’ll probably always have it, hopefully yours is fixable! 👍🏻
