Blood Tests

Just a quick query, how often should you have ESR or CRP blood tests? When I was first diagnosed (about 11 years ago) I used to have them fairly regularly but for the last 4 years since being diagnosed with Adrenal Insufficiency I haven’t had any until the last few weeks when I had a flare. Thanks

Depends really - if they are stable and you have no symptoms, is there much point? Symptoms always trump blood markers - the markers can be raised for a lot of things, not just PMR/GCA. OTOH - if you have symptoms it is definitely worth asking for them to be checked. I assume you are on pred for the adrenal insufficiency?

I was diagnosed in December 2020 and started pred so not that long but I'm having bloods done every 3 months. Do get occasional bloods done in between if needed

Hi. Every year sometimes 6 months. Ask your Gp for this to be carried out. Also if a reminder isn't sent make a note yourself. I have this info from a medical person. GP's are responsible for your care.
