Tortuous left temporal artery

Hi everyone, further to onset of new and worsening symptoms during the past 3 months such as all over body stiffness, increase in all over body pain and left sided headache, increase in general malaise and fatigue, I had another ultrasound scan of temporal arteries, the ones in my armpit and neck. Loads of bloods taken along with a wee sample. When I saw Rheumy straight after the scan he said he would refer me for an urgent PET scan, which I will be attending tomorrow. Awaiting to hear back re: bloods and wee as only attended GCA clinic last week.

Just wondered if anyone has experienced anything similar?

I haven't, but it does seem like they are on the ball with tests and imaging. Hope all turns out well, or at least easily remedied. 💐

I did and the outcome was a diagnosis of GCA/LVV ( Large Vessel Vasculitis). Abnormal cells were spotted in my left armpit. Good luck!

Thanks SJ, if you don’t mind me asking, did you have any localised pain in the chest and shoulder? Any body stiffness and general pain all over at all?

Nothing serious, a headache and the sense of not feeling right although I had got down to 3 mgs of Pred. My blood pressure was different in each arm. Another clue for my Rheumatologist.
