I just wanted to say Hello and thanks to all fellow posters as everything is so helpful when you are newly diagnosed. I hope in time I can be of use to someone else.
I'm new here!: I just wanted to say Hello and... - PMRGCAuk
I'm new here!
Welcome Milo, I hope your PMR journey goes well
Hi and welcome - everyone has something to contribute, even the person who struggled to get a diagnosis and doesn;t know what they have!
Thanks. I think I've had PMR for up to 2 years. I had a bad shoulder and an MRI and then both shoulders hurt mainly in bed and my hips have hurt for years! Do I still have a good chance of improvement even though late to diagnose and start Prednisolone? I was a Nurse but have had to stop work and am applying for early retirement on ill health (anxiety also).
Hi, and welcome,
I had undiagnosed GCA for 18 months, and have now been in remission since September 2016.
Both illnesses are self limiting, so if it’s going to last, say 4 years, it’s going to last 4 years....it might just take longer at the beginning to get the built up inflammation under control...if it’s had a year or two rather than a matter of weeks.

Hello and welcome.
There's loads of info here so grab a cuppa and have a read. Keep posting 🙂
Hello, MiloCollie. I'm sure you'll be contributing along the way. It's so useful to have nurses on the forum- and we don't need to make an appointment. 😉Good luck and hoping you'll soon be feeling a lot better.
Hello and welcome Milocollie! You will. X
Hi and welcome.
Just keep reading and gradually you’ll find yourself contributing as many more do.
Hi, you have arrived at an amazing source of accurate information regarding PMR and GCA. Many of the folks here are long -timers who provide links to valuable information that could take hours for others of us, to find. All that said, welcome to you.
My PMR was diagnosed 9/2013. I probably developed the disorder two years before diagnosis, but it took that long to mature into full blown disease.
As one of the long-timers said, "this disorder is not life threatening...but it is life changing.
Check in often, and contribute when you feel inclined. Often the words of other new members are most comforting for the first timer.
Kind Regards, Jerri
