PMR Stay

This is a follow up situation from my earlier posts i.e. is it PMR or not? Have seen a Physiotherapist (recommended by a member which I’m grateful for) re my neck and leg issues. The Physiotherapist established with some certainty that my leg pain was a referral from a Facet joint problem on the left 5th vertebrae. Whereas the neck pain was not conclusively diagnosed! She treated the vertebral problem and I got great relief over the following days. She also applied some treatment on the neck, including acupuncture, but I got no relief unfortunately. I’m having a follow up session this coming Wednesday. This Physiotherapy treatment etc was over a period of two weeks and for that period I took NO Steriods.

As I write this my neck issue - always up to now being on the right side has now spread to my left side. This seems to indicate that PMR is still with me. So I’ve decided, from today, to take 20mg Steriods over the coming days and, depending on results, to taper down to 10mg which was my original long term level. If I get relief from these neck aches I’ll accept my PMR condition and carry on

Sounds very sensible. If the pred does not work at that level you can probably discount the PMR as being the problem.
