Temporal Biopsy Update

Just to give an update on the progress made since initial diagnosis of Temporal Arteritis by GP three weeks ago.

I had the biopsy yesterday and will have to have another eye test done at the hospital as the nurse administered the dilating eye drops prior to having the field test, I think it was called this anyway. I have a follow up appointment with G.P this Monday so will see what happens from there with regards my daily dose of Prednisolone remaining the same at 60mg daily or changing?

Have been on Prednisolone since the 24th March so it may hinder the biopsy result I guess but, we shall see.

All the best with your tests. A negative biopsy doesn’t necessarily mean that you do not have GCA as you are probably aware. Take care, let us know how you are getting on.

How were your eyes affected ?

Hi, fortunately my vision was okay however the field vision test showed slight loss on the peripheral vision but not I am aware of it. I guess I am one of the lucky ones!
