Low histamine fir GCA

Does anyone know if Low Histamine diet help GCA if so should we get tested for it Anything to get off these steroids thanks

I think it is unlikely - we do have a few people on the forum who use low histamine diets but they don't appear to greatly improve the PMR/GCA. Why do you think it might?

What will get you off steroids is the underlying autoimmune disease going into remission - and that takes time and patience. Try to rush off pred and you will end up in a worse situation. There really are no magic answers.

Thanks so much for helping I guess I am having it hard at the moment was on 5 now back up to 30 after blood tests back up to 39 Oh it is a long hard road I put on 18 kg In 6 months So I have gone on 5/2 diet and getting weight off and getting myself fit Lost my first 2 1/2 kg which I am thrilled something I can do to get better Robyn

If you had found us sooner that is exactly what we would have said to do - low carb is the way to go with being on pred, really helps avoid the weight gain and also steroid-induced diabetes. Several people have managed to lose a lot with the Fast800 pure but others are doing it as 5/2. I'm just jealous - I lose weight but oh so slowly!
