Trigeminal Neuralgia
Does anyone have experience of Trigeminal Neuralg... - PMRGCAuk
Does anyone have experience of Trigeminal Neuralgia? I have been prescribed Pregabalin but it doesn't work. Has anyone tried Acupuncture?
I believe DadCue had a lot of trouble with it - he'll maybe be on later.
Doesn’t Griggser have a possible diagnosis of this along with the Singles?
Mine is postherpetic neuralgia. It’s very very painful and yesterday was unbearable. Phoned the doc as I was desperate and he prescribed liquid morphine which helped.
Hi, Griggser
How are you doing?

Hmm today is better than yesterday which was horrendous. I was in so much pain I didn’t know what to do, it was driving me tears. Called the doc and he gave me liquid morphine which helped. Took some zapain at bedtime and got a not bad night sleep. However I soon as I woke up it was there, so more morphine. I’m sat indoors with sunglasses on and not doing anything other than taking my drugs and eye drops all under the control of my wonderful caring wife Jacky.
Hi I had acupuncture for neck pain and it worked a treat when all else had failed. I have been in touch with my therapist and he says that he has had some success with trigeminal neuralgia cannot guarantee good results. I may try it just to see. I have nothing to lose. Watch this space.
Other half has it and takes amitriptyline 3 x 10mg daily. He tried to come off it but the pain came back - no symptoms while on it. Been over 20 years now since diagnosis. Says it’s more painful than his heart attack was!!!
Hi! I had atypical TN and I'm now pain free and have been for months. I put a guide together here: please read and share! docs.google.com/document/d/...
I suffered from this hideously painful condition just under 20 years ago. Conventional medicine did nothing/very little for me. I eventually consulted a wonderful craniosacral therapist who had been recommended to me and the partial relief was almost instantaneous after the first session and the pain disappeared after a few sessions with her. It may not work for everyone but it certainly worked for me.

It’s a lot of trial and error.
I have atypical TN. Pregabalin works okay.
I couldn’t tolerate side effects of gabapentin or carbamazepine.
Seeing neurosurgeon this week.
I also had atypical and I'm now pain free and have been for months. I put a guide together here: please read and share! docs.google.com/document/d/...
