Hi,

Have you discussed this with your Consultant or Rheumatology Nurse? Are you also on Prednisolone?

drugs.com/drug-interactions...

I take an anti-inflammatory as prescribed by my Consultant for the damage to my knees but with supervised care.

Best to get clear advice from the Rheumatology Team & go from there.

Please let us know what they say & how you are feeling.

Kind Regards

Do you mean GPA or GCA? They are different forms of vasculitis.

I doubt many here know much about GPA and the pain but we can say that mixing ibuprofen with pred is really not a good idea as it can cause worse stomach problems than either ibuprofen or prednisone alone. You really do need to speak to your medical team. For us the prednisone acts as the painkiller by relieving the inflammation and NSAIDs rarely help.

It is quite common to feel quite flu-ey the day after taking methotrexate and it made me very tired, can't remember if it made me sleepy though.

I agree with all above and would just like to add that my methotrexate (20mg per wk) always knocks me out on the day of taking. I get to feel tired and nearly always go back to bed for an afternoon snooze and sometimes it makes me feel nasal and blocked and a little head achey. Because I'm also on prednisalone (7mg per day) my rheumy said not to take anything with aspirin in it cos it doesn't mix well with nsaids, and stick to paracetomol for any aches or pains. It certainly seems to work for me. If you're on 25mg per day of pred, then yes you will get "moon face" where your face appears to get fat. I had that until I tapered my pred down to under 10mg per day and my face went back to normal. As mentioned though - if there's any doubt or other problems then check in with your rheumy for specific medical advice.
