Not sure what is happening but............

Well I thought my journey with PMR was coming to a close August 2020, from November 2018. Off Prednisone in August as per rheumy instructions. Then back on Prednisone as the pain back in both arms in November, so back to 10 mg we go! Feel great and now down to 3 mg once again. I have been noticing however that my right eye feels blurry? Is this something more or ? I am still a newbie at this PMR and so I hope someone will help! Wishing that you all had the very best Christmas and here's to health, happiness and peace for 2021 too!

Worth getting it checked out - impossible to say what it is just from that. That's what opticians are for - good ones at least!

Thanks kind of scared it might be connected to the PMR ?

It is always possible that GCA can start up, at any point, any dose. But usually you would feel less well, have other symptoms, as well. But you must always bear it in mind - but not be worrie dso you can't get on with living.

Might just be a bit of a cataract coming but only a check will put your mind at rest.

I had my cataracts done 4 years ago! :) Good thought!

They might have a bit of build up that needs some laser treatment.

Could it be dry eye syndrome?

Well I do have dry eyes and have the super duper drops, so....... thank you for your thought!

I also have dry eyes so did wonder. Which drops are you using? I use Hycosan extra. My opthamologist at the eye clinic just said to moisturise my eyes with any drops but the optician recommended these

I am using Xiidra, I had to see an opthamologist to get them

My vision was ,"fuzzy" a couple of months ago. Mostly for an hour or so in the morning. I went to an optician and everything was absolutely fine. She said that there are ducts running along the eyelashes which excrete a waxy substance which lubricates the eyes. It can thicken and not flow as readily. I now have a mask which I heat in the microwave, sit for 10 minutes wearing it, massage eyelids carefully. No more fuzzy eyes.

Thank you I too have a mask which I can heat up, thanks for reminding me. My optometrist told me my ducts are just as you describe. Thank you so much for the reminders! Hope 2021 is good to you!

While some people get away with PMR for only 2 years many of us have it much longer. Sorry your Rheumie doesn’t seem to understand that and had you off Prednisone likely before you were ready. Hopefully chapter 2 in your journey will run smoothly. Happy 2021!

Thank you, well actually my rheumy said she thought it might have been over but then it returned? So she did admit that, and I applaud her for that! Thank you for your kind words and happy 2021 to you as well!
