Neck pain
It isn't a usual region for bursitis to be mentioned by patients - have you had cervico-thoracic interspinous bursitis diagnosed? But yes - it is found in PMR:

"Although similar cases have been reported to be associated with rheumatologic conditions, most notably polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR), ..."
and there are more details in the references numbered 2-7. One title suggests it is common but doesn't cause pain.

I wonder if that's the problem,. Had lots of stress as my husbands had Parkinsons Disease for seven years and he takes a lot of attention plus sons marriage has broken down. Could stress be playing a part?
Your automatic reaction to stress is very likely to tighten your shoulders and hunch them - and eventually they do it even more to protect themselves. Try to actively relax them down towards your shoulder blades and see the difference! I can feel mine go up when I go for a walk - and then the rest of the back follows. I'm a regular at the pain clinic here to keep mine under control.
