I am entering remission with my first bout of polymyalgia but the loss of appetite and tiredness is still very very prevalent, how long does it take to go away.

What do you mean by saying "entering remission"? Are you off pred? How long were you on pred? How long did it take you to get from 5mg to zero? Have you had a synacthen test?

Loss of appetite and fatigue are often signs of poor adrenal function - and it can take quite a long time while reducing safely to tickle adrenal function into life, especially if you have been on pred very long. Even if it returns without too much trouble it is said to remain unreliable for up to a year after stopping pred altogether so in situations of stress of any sort it is important to be aware that an adrenal crisis is possible.
