Sorry - not clear what you mean? Have you got relapse symptoms or do you want to know what they are? Are you on pred and reducing or off pred and the signs of PMR are returning?

Yes it was a bit cryptic! Diagnosed PMR in November, been on recommended taper, 10mg Pred since Feb but recently sudden onset of muscle tightening/cramping in calves and thighs just after a week of off-road walking about 4 1/2 miles a day. Not the same as when I first got PMR, thought i could rest it out but that hasn't worked. Walking more than 200m locks up legs. Assuming this is a relapse?

I am almost 2 years into PMR so I'm no expert but what you have just described , is what I have done several times myself the last 6 month's , TOO much to soon , I can feel ok while I am walking , cleaning etc etc ... a few days later it hits home I have done too much, my legs lock up with cramps , spasm's, stinging pains oo la it takes a good week of resting for things to settle back down , if I try ( like I would have pre PMR ) to push through it ... I end up increasing the Preds not decreasing , you need a few days rest x

It might be what mad-country-lover suggests but your description is also typical of claudication - muscle pain due to a lack of oxygen supply to the muscles. Does the pain stop when you stop walking and return when you start to walk again?

Not Claudication, I'm familiar with it from involvement years ago with vascular surgery (I, Claudius etc..!). When it first started I thought of it but it doesn't fit - but thanks for the thought.
