What should I do

I got PMR in September 2017. I was down to 5mg for 2 months then started alternating 5 one day and 4 the next day. I did that for 30 days then started having pain in my shoulders and neck. I went to 15mg for 2 days then 10mg for 2 days then went 8 ,7 ,6 and back to 5. I just noticed a little pain later this evening in my left shoulder. What should I do?

Give it a day or two and see if it worsens. If it does try 6mg and you may not have to go higher. It is quite common to find it harder to get a flare under control. But have you done anything that might have injured the shoulder during the day? It isn't always the PMR.

Thank you so much. I injured my knee real bad and I thought maybe the trauma from that may have caused a flare. I have a torn rotator cuff on my right shoulder but it hurts mostly all the time. My left shoulder started hurting and then my right shoulder got worse after my knee accident.

A fall CAN trigger a flare - and this sounds like PMR+
