Follow up question to high CRP

When there are few symptoms how to know if the high inflammation is from which disease?

Maybe GCA is stable and no need to go on Actemra

CRP can be 'high' or even 'normal' for people with PMR/GCA - so there is not always an obvious correlation - although it can of course be elevated for other reasons. Just a word of caution - although you feel OK after a year and now on 17.5mg (I think you said in your previous post) - it is possible or dare I say even somewhat likely you may have a flare or perhaps renewed disease activity with PMR/GCA before your journey is completely over - the average duration is closer to 6 years anyway but you could be 'lucky'. Regarding Actemra you will have to consider the 'ins and outs' - something I am currently doing myself after more than 3 years on Pred - and a few 'flares' so far.

Best wishes

There is no way of knowing. But the CRP falling because the patient is on Actemra doesn't mean the PMR/GCA is fully under control either.
