Wow your hosta is weeks ahead of mine which is the big one with Bluey/Green leaves and it shoots up tall purple flowers. Snails cannot eat it, the leaves are too tough.

Mind not that snails or slugs exist very long - Blackbirds and Thrushes and some of them prefer one stone over the other. It is fun when they are sort of shouting at each as too who gets the stone - especially as I have blue welsh slate stones.
