Hello, I wonder if anyone with diagnosed PMR has experienced/is experiencing chest muscle pain overnight and early morning that affects lung expansion and thus the ability to breathe deeply. As with the rest of the muscular pain and weakness this reduces once you get going and take exercise.
PMR-Chest Muscle Pain?: Hello, I wonder if anyone... - PMRGCAuk
PMR-Chest Muscle Pain?
Yes I have issues taking a deep breath-- either exhale or inhale slightly more than a regular breath can cause horrible main throughout the ribs and chest and also on the opposing side equally on my upper back.. if I sneeze or cough slightly that the most horrible pain ever!! Tried Pred - and he tapered me off - Tried Naproxen and no help- not im trying Sulphasalazine and that is suppose to take 12 weeks before it can help-- so Im in horrible pain and stiffness in my hips low back , upper back , neck -- chest and the clavicle area but not my rotator cuffs.... I think I have classic PMR but my Rheumy is thinking it another Rheaumatic conditon and he is chasing a different direction - but in the meantime Im in horrible pain and stiffness 24/7 for the last 4 months,,,Im at my wits end,,NICK
Did pred work? Could it be costochondritis?
No did not help that much .. started on 15 and maybe he started too low ... but now I’m at zero and dr doesn’t feel it’s PMR but I do ... costochonritos don’t think so cause the pain is all the chest and all the upper back
15mg is a lowish starting dose - the most recent guidelines say lowest effective dose in the range 12.5 to 25, exceptionally 30. If at first - try a bit more!
