Looking for answers.

Hope everyone is well at this time. I am trying to get some answers for all the pain in my back and when I walk my legs feel like posts. It does not help I have gained 15 pounds. When I started my PMR journey my ESR was 25 and my CRP was 53 These readings have been what I follow in the way I feel. My theory is if the inflammation is gone the pain should subside. Had my blood work done last week and my ESR is 8 and my CRP is 1.5. Cannot get much better than that but I still have this pain. I am presently going from 3.5 of pred to 3 by the slow method. I have always had a high RBC and was reading side effects from this can be pain and fatigue. I am so tired a lot of the day. My Rhemy said the RBC count is high due to the pred. Has anyone experienced this?

WHITE count can be high due to pred - only high doses of pred will raise the red count usually or in certain disorders.

I'd wonder if you have myofascial pain syndrome - tight and inflamed back muscles is common alongside PMR. It often resolves at higher doses but then reappears as the dose falls.
