Dynamo (The Magician) and Prednisilone

Just watched a three part documentary about Dynamo, the world acclaimed magician and his battle with health issues, which documented the effect that prednisalone and methotrexate had on him. Very brave of him to bear it all,

It was broadcast on Sky1 over the weekend. If you can it is worth a view.

No, it details his battle with Crohn's disease and then inflammation of the joints- very like PMR

in reply toTheziggy

Yes but he is recovering from having Coronavirus in the context of being immunosuppressed too.😱

Thank you I was not aware of that - it wasn't mentioned during the programmes, I guess his immunosuppression made him more susceptible to CV. But really I was just drawing attention to his reporting on his prednisilone use and its effects on him. He certainly is a fighter!

I think..don't have sky so will have to see another time....it was first broadcast last year. It looks like they have popped it up again due to him being ill. He is much better than he was a couple of weeks ago.

And appeared on Sky News this morning - has he written a book?

Ah no - it's the series ...

in reply toPMRpro

Probably. He has been on trend for a few weeks for Corona. Otherwise I don't usually read about magicians...🤪

Good Morning.

No he I wasn’t a victim of Covid 19. Like Ziggy stated, he is a long term sufferer from Chrones . He had a bad bout of Food poisoning , ended up in Hospital, one thing led to another, and was put on Pred , and Metho.......... as his joints became painful, like we have all suffered from our PMR.

Certainly no mention of Coronavirus in that programme.

Just clicked onto your BBC link. 100% was never ever mentioned. 🤷‍♂️

in reply toStifffingers

That's because it was made a year ago. Check out the BBC link. I only heard of him at all through covid news I was following. 🌻

His appearances in the last week have been due to his recovery from CV.

Certainly was on Sky News this week and the link I posted .- but which programme do you mean?

in reply toPMRpro

It's a 3 part documentary he did with sky last year.

Dynamo: Beyond Belief

This three-part magic special combines jaw-dropping magic with the story of Dynamo’s road to recovery after his career threatening onslaught of chronic arthritis.

in reply toStifffingers

No. The programme was first broadcast in sept. 🤣😂🤣

His appearance was quite dramatic after Prednisalone, with all the distressing effects of high dose steroids, especially the moon face. The magic was fantastically baffling. Poor chap.
