For the past few weeks I've had stiffness in jaw. Also tenderness at base of scull and on top of head. I've had PMR for five years and surely wouldn't be getting GCA now. Or could I?! I have plenty of Pred in store just in case, but I'm certainly not going to a hospital at the moment. Any clues, anyone?

Hi, I have had one for 4 years and often get jaw pain and occipital pain on those nodule things at the back of your skull.
You sholud always be vigilant if course I did mention it to the Dr who said try relaxation and paracetamol firva few days see what happens..it helped and the dental hospital said my jaw was tmj and made a night guard to help stop me from grinding so hard. These seemed to work but I must confess. Both are a little painful at the moment due to isolation etc. Hence for ME the Dr and dentist seem to be right, stress causes it. However, if it keeps up after trying painkillers and some relaxation techniques then ring the Dr. If you get visual issues of any kind ring the Dr and/or 111 or 999 and explain. Do not put it off if visual issues arise. I hope it eases soon. In the meantime if you have some gum try the chewing gum test and some relaxation methods. I will link some for you.
Try the chewing gum test: chew gum at one chew per second for 2 to 3 minutes. If you develop jaw pain that then resolves when you stop it is a fairly good indication of GCA and worth bothering the GP - even now.
