Thank you everyone for replying to my Amytrptaline query yesterday evening. I’m not planning to stop taking it as it is working for me nicely. Glad to hear it’s not addictive (unlike my constant misspelling of the word 🤣). Hope everyone is Keeping Well. All the best 🌸🌸

hi, hope your keeping well, only just seen your post. I have been on amitriptyline for at least 10 years. the highest dose being 50mg which I took for nerve pain from my neck. it really helped my pain and did help with a more restful sleep. side effects at first were drowsiness, dry mouth.
over the years I have reduced my dose under doctor's care and was always told to reduce slowly. I never had any problems with reducing it apart from my pain coming back, I have been on 30mg at night for few months so will see how it goes.
if this medicine is helping you, maybe you should continue it, however that is your decision. over time your gp should be able to advise you on dose/efficiency.
wishing you well.
