Advice please

So, I’ve been tapering and managed to get down to 40mg, from nowhere I have developed pain in one toe!!

It’s not painful to touch, I can prod and bend it, it doesn’t hurt, as soon as I walk it’s excruciating!

Has anyone else experienced this?

Hello, which toe and is it a joint? Any heat or swelling? Have you done anything different eg wearing different footwear (or no footwear) or squatting etc?

At first I thought gout, but my mum's toe used to swell and was sore to touch...I am loathe to ask if you have bumped it or recently got new shoes?

Which toe is giving you pain? It has a bearing on the condition it might be. If you google toe pain you will see a welter of possibilities and potential remedies. GCA and PMR treatment ( Pred) can give rise to co- morbidities linked to muscle weakness.

It’s the toe next to my little one! I’ve not bumped it, and sadly no new shoes!

It’s weird, if I’m still it doesn’t hurt, I can bend it, even press it quite hard on the floor! But as soon as I walk, its really painful and more so in the morning??

Is it like a sharp electrical like pain that pulls you up immediately? Could it be a morten's neuroma? Google it and see if the symptoms fit. When I got mine first it literally appeared from nowhere and stopped me in my tracks when I was walking along the street. First thing in the morning was really bad too. But totally painless when you don’t walk on it.

Interesting...it is filed away for future reference...what was it againg...kidding 🤣 I thought I just had hammer toe 6 years ago but rethinking now.
