Business as usual

Just a short message to everyone to say that although we are letting the Corona/covid issue alter the rules slightly, we are still only accepting pmr/gca related posts. The only exception to this is the daily bulletin on the virus and subsequent replies. We will continue to delete unrelated posts. Thanks for your understanding. YBB

Is there a way to have this or the original post re the one a day thread, appear at the top of the page where people make their posts?

I can have a word with Fran and see what IT can do. YBB

only at the top of the pinned posts I think - which I will do.

Sorry but I have not stopped since 9am except for a short shopping trip and my dinner! Not sure how many but must be 150 notifications at least!

I did wonder!! Yes around that but remember i see mine until i sleep for a couple of hours so have longer to deal with them🤪

in reply toPMRpro

Well have that glass or two before 150 notifications. Anything from me can be ignored!

I think it's important that people know how much work is involved from both you and YBB to keep the forum going, all on a voluntry basis. We are all very grateful. I know there is no break at weekends or day off.

All this is fitted in around your everyday life. At the moment you both have the extra worries that we all have and are still carrying the extra postings as well.

Thankyou both for all that you do.

You poor thing - no-one meant you or the other moderators to work for so long on these posts. How did it all get out of control? Does nothing else in the world happen besides the dreaded c word?

Many thanks to all of you for your time and the help you have given/are giving us. You will need a few days off to recover.

All the best C.

It has happened before with other problems - the forum is a victim of its own success and is being used far more. Many people just don't think about looking at past posts and ask the same question that was asked and answered well just an hour or so before. Or ask for info that is easy to find online - effectively expecting someone else to spend the time finding what they need. The format of the forum is quite inflexible - there was another that had things split up into headings all the time and there I would just have started a Covid thread and made sure everyone went there.

The sentence "Or ask for info .........." is the relevant one I think!

Probably done it myself a few times. My humblest apologies.😂

👍

I was worried that some of the pmr gca questions might get missed so happy to go back to BAU.... With a daily c19 post to keep up to date.

Don’t think we’re going to see “normal” for a long time - but I know what you mean.😊

A list of key developments everyday/week is all we can ask for. Members who get ill need to focus on getting. I wondered if polarised responses were based on very the member had had flu in their life before🤒.
